Safety and fine quality of tablet packing are two characteristics that must be kept in mind by the producer if he wants to win the customer's confidence. The packaging is supposed to preserve against external factors, possibly changing the product's properties (for example light or heat). In addition, it has to protect against mechanical injuries and biological contamination. Above all, however, it should assure proper medicine recognition. Therefore, the packaging must include the name of the commonly used active substance contained in the given pharmaceutical product. If more of them is used, all are supposed to be named and a plus symbol should be located between them. The package must as well contain information on whether the drug is intended for toddlers, kids or adults. The manner of use, the warnings regarding the place and manner of storage, the expiration date, name and address of the manufacturer responsible, the marketing authorization number, batch number and instructions for dosage must also be provided if the pharmaceutical product is sold without a prescription. There are also special rules for packaging graphic layouts.
